Simon started his working life in the merchant navy before moving into financial services. He went on to gain a law degree followed by a master’s degree in commercial law. Simon is now duel qualified having originally trained as a barrister, he was called to the bar in 1999. Simon later further qualified as a solicitor and was admitted to the Solicitors’ Roll in 2010. Simon is a practicing solicitor.
Simon has been chair of both a housing association and a legal action group. Simon has made numerous media appearances including Neighbours from Hell and Richard and Judy.
